Coaching the creative mind
Navigate your environment without holding back your brilliance.
Bailey recognizes the shared experiences individuals with ADHD face while navigating school systems and programs not designed with their motivational mechanisms in mind. People with ADHD hold an extreme capacity for creating impact, but oftentimes, this potential remains trapped under the surface due to a range of biological influences. This can lead to low self-esteem, withdrawal, or even behavioral outbursts. Their unique way of seeing, processing, and moving through the world can become associated with moral failure and lack of intelligence through repeated forms of disapproval from authority figures, peers, and strangers. It is vital that these individuals establish a positive relationship with their gifts by working creatively to maintain the practical necessities of life, stabilize their social support system, and integrate behavioral skills into habits. Bailey has worked to develop these essential frameworks with youth from diverse backgrounds, each with unique strengths and mental health challenges. In the past 3 years, he has dedicated over 5,000 hours to coaching teens, specifically through behavioral skills training, group facilitation, individual mentoring, and goal management.
He has lived experience with ADHD and has forged his way through participation in sports, arts, outdoor activities and following his curiosity wherever it leads, including design, ecology, and mental health—all driven forward by systems thinking paired with a passion for individual, collective and environmental justice. He gets it.
